Things to do in Delhi Sightseeing Tour

After arriving in Delhi, it's time to plan your sightseeing tour. You'll enjoy the city's famous landmarks and attractions, but there's also plenty to do in this bustling capital.

From a 15-minute boat ride to a museum, there are many things to see and do during your sightseeing tour. Listed below are some of the highlights you should not miss when you visit Delhi.

A tourist-designed bus runs every half hour in the city. The cost is fixed for a day or two, and you can hop on and off as you please. The bus comes every thirty to forty-five minutes during the day. The HOHO bus does not run on Mondays, but it's still worth checking out. There's something for everyone on a Delhi Sightseeing tour.

While you're in the area, you might want to stop by the Akshardham temple. This ancient Hindu temple is one of the largest in the world. Inside, photography is prohibited. Afterward, check out the other temples on the tour.

You might also want to visit the Red Fort. This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have to leave the city early on a Monday or Tuesday, but the tour is well worth it for the views.

Visit the National Museum: The Indian Museum is home to a wide array of art and history. Visit the National Museum to see a few of the world's most iconic monuments. It's also worth visiting the famous Maidens Hotel, which is located in the civil neighbourhood.

The Maidens Hotel features classical lines and wide lawns, and the rooms are spacious. The Curzon is named after the famous Lord Curzon, whose name was on the hotel's facade. The hotel also offers a museum dedicated to the Mahatma's life. And don't miss the Cavalry Bar, which has a large selection of traditional drinks and snacks.

Another must-see place for your Delhi tour is the India Gate. At night, the view is spectacular, as are the fountains nearby. A trip to Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in India, is another must-see while on your Delhi sightseeing tour. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, this monument is one of the best places to see in New Delhi.

It's home to some of the city's oldest mosques, including the Jama Masjid, which was one of the last works of architecture that Shah Jahan created. Its red sandstone domes and two forty-meter-high minarets are stunning structures that make it a landmark and a symbol of the greater metropolitan area.

When it comes to street food, Delhi is unrivalled. Try the chaat papdi - a wafer loaded with vegetables - or the golgappas – fried hollow dough filled with chickpeas. Then don't miss the sizzling kebabs, topped off with treacle-dripping jalebis. You won't be disappointed!

The national capital is home to many historical sites. The city is the site of many important events surrounding the formation of independent India, including the Partition of India. You will find much of the city's history on display. Here are some Things to do in Delhi Sightseeing Tour.
